Chapter 28 – Indoor Class (7)

After a fantastic weekend, I entered the classroom with a somewhat grim face. The academy students, who had not seen each other over the weekend, chatted about what they were doing and played with each other, or showed off a friendly atmosphere by talking about how they met and played on the weekend.

Kim Joo-seong was also having a good conversation with the other kids, but as the academy life progressed quite a bit, it seemed that the members who became close were decided. After Kim Joo-seong stopped talking, she spoke to Chun-bae, who was a little away from her.

“Hey, it’s Chunbae. You are not there either. Come here. What song do you listen to so intently?”

“Huh? Ah, ah, I’m done.”

Chunbae Kim said that and shook her head. Ichie was sitting at a table away from Chunbae. She was fiddling with her pad, then when she saw me, she waved her hand and got up from her seat. I sat down next to her and casually started a small talk. The kids who had been teasing me with my nickname for about a week didn’t seem able to afford it as they were enjoying their new academy life.

“Your face color is strange. Are you sick?”

As soon as I sat down, Ichie asked me about my complexion. When I saw the people in the classroom staring at me, it seemed that my complexion was quite pale. I shook my head and gave a healthy-looking smile.

“It doesn’t hurt. It was because it was a bit difficult to help out at home for a while on the weekend.”

“Housework?”

“There are things like moving things, you know?”

“Oh, I know what it is.”

Ichie nodded as if he knew. It was easy for everyone to do it at least once, so it was easy to go over it without hesitation. After the misunderstanding was resolved, Ichie began to tell the story of the Black Dragon’s room. It wasn’t very fluent Korean, but it was easy to understand. It was a story about meeting a monster called Shadow, learning how to fight, and encountering several more monsters.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t fight all the monsters, but he said he was able to fight Shadow.

“So, what happened with that Shadow? It must have been difficult because he was a D-class.”

“Thanks to Hayeon unnie’s help, that… It was shit.”

“…I beg your pardon?”

“It’s fucking rice. I said it for an easy opponent. No?”

“…Just say it was easy. That’s a bad word.”

“You did? Sorry.”

“There is no need to be sorry.”

The day after the weekend. We were sitting in class huddled together talking about our class over the weekend. Ichie was talking about the Black Dragon Room dungeon, moving his feet vigorously as if he had been waiting for me to come. Listening to the explanation, it was a space that was more organized than I thought.

“Shadow has a habit of hiding in a dark space by taking advantage of the fact that he cannot be seen. So when he throws something like a flashbang, it freezes up in the light all around. Although it moves quickly, it is easy to catch with this.”

“I see.”

I nodded. The appearance of Shadow shown in the video of the encyclopedia was like a monster from an old movie. A monster that appears in a pitch-black form after attempting to mess with CG processing and failing. Wouldn’t it really look like a classic movie to fight these monsters?

“Then what did you do after training? Did you go home right away?”

“I ate with Hayeon unnie.”

“Is it so? What did you eat? There are many restaurants nearby.”

“Indoor units? Downtown? Rice soup? I ate it.”

“Siraegi soup?”

When I told her the correct name, she nodded her head. She said in ichi.

“Yes. So, eat something else for lunch today. I heard there are many delicious Korean foods other than soup.”

Ichie jumped ahead before I talked about the lunch menu. I hid my regretful expression and asked.

“Then would you like to eat eel soup?”

“Eel soup? What is that?”

“It’s a delicious stew with eel.”

“Do you want to eat?”

I closed my mouth. Ichie shook her head and said.

“Other than that, I eat chicken ribs. I saw this while doing SNS. Cheese Chicken Ribs. Eat that Fried rice.”

“It will be spicy, will it be okay?”

“I like to eat spicy food.”

“Did everyone have a good weekend?”

I heard Teacher Jeonga’s voice. As soon as she opened her front door and entered, all the students who were talking here and there all fell silent. Amidst the silence, the sound of Japanese singing came to my ears clearly. Chunbae kept her mouth shut and listened to the song.

The children quickly returned to their seats and began to glance at Chunbae. Chunbae took a look at Ichie and me, and then she continued playing music. It’s a very small sound, but the strange music that spreads throughout the classroom was enough to make me tilt my head.

Why the hell are you playing this song for us?

Kim Joo-seong, who had not heard of it, tapped the desk lightly and noticed,

“Ah, sorry.”

Chunbae Kim said that and put down his earphones and turned off the music. Then she bowed her head to the pad again. It was very uncomfortable to look at this side. Teacher Jung-ah took a peek at Chun-bae and then she lowered the screen. Currently, due to the death of a C-class hunter, time was allocated to introduce and inform D- or E-class monsters prior to this training.

“The monster to be introduced today is the Elder Spider.”

It was a monster I heard a little while having sex with senior Yoojung yesterday. Ichie sent a message on his pad when I saw a hint of understanding on my face.

[Is this a monster you know?]

I nodded and replied.

[I saw it while studying on the weekend. It’s a surprisingly easy monster to catch.]

[I thought we were going to the Black Dragon Room together, but it was a pity we didn’t go. I will definitely go with you next week.]

Ichie said that and looked at me. She nodded her head once and demanded an answer from me. If possible, I wanted to spend the whole weekend with senior Kim Yoo-jung, but that doesn’t mean that she was just enjoying a date while leaving her teammates alone. Since Ichie seemed quite eager for the test, wouldn’t it be right to match the rhythm as a team member? I typed a message on the pad.

[I had some work this week. Shall we go to the training ground together next week?]

[Let’s go together. Go study.]

The word “Study” Reminded me of a deep night with senior Yoo-jung. I had to erase my burning face. All last night we put our bodies on top of each other, ate, chatted while watching TV, and then put our bodies back on top of each other.

You could say it was like a beast. When I woke up in the morning, Senior Yu-jeong grinned at me with her drowsy face and loose shirt. I shook my head to erase the unwholesome image the academy conjured up.

“Then, the explanation is over.”

As soon as teacher Jeonga’s class was over, the prospective hunters rushed out of the classroom. It seemed that the training in hell was better than this boring class. I stood in front of the machine with a sore body. After completing all the prescribed sets, I had to undergo a brief checkup by the instructor and achieve additional requirements according to my physical strength that day.

I was judged to have no extra value today. His complexion was a little off, and it was actually because his stamina was a little off. Even an awakened person seemed to be straining his body if he had sex 8 times a day.

*******

Lunch hour. We left the restaurant on time. The reserved restaurant had a table setting for two. Ichie’s eyes sparkled from the signboard of the dakgalbi restaurant, and he sat down on a chair and hummed a little excitedly. She pointed to the menu and said.

“Soup. No.”

“I see.”

“Koreans should eat spicy food.”

“Ichie is Japanese.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at her remarks. When I tackled him with a smile, Ichie nodded her head and said,

“This is also the case with Japanese people, so when they come to Korea, they eat spicy food. In Rome, follow Roman law. In Korea, even Japanese people eat Korean food. Rice soup. No. Spicy is right.”

In my personal opinion, Korean food is not spicy food, but rice soup. Since ancient times, our ancestors liked to roll and eat anything.

Eel soup, chueotang, seolleongtang, siraegit soup, soybean paste soup, beef radish soup, yukgaejang, seaweed soup. In the world, there is not only the name of rice soup, but there are so many foods that are rolled up and eaten like rice soup. I was a bit disappointed that Ichie didn’t appreciate the charm of rice soup. I asked.

“Then shall we decide the menu for tomorrow? What would Ichie want to eat?”

“Tteokbokki. I will eat tteokbokki tomorrow.”

She showed her restaurant list from her phone. Perhaps the purpose of the academy is to eat a lot of lunch and digest it slowly, but the lunch break was quite long as training was difficult. I asked.

“Tteokbokki? Tteokbokki is good.”

“After that, I also eat spicy pork feet.”

She rummaged through her phone again and showed a signboard for a spicy pork feet restaurant. Since the academy area is downtown, there are many restaurants. She was excited and started looking for restaurants.

“And, spicy eel. There is a place that makes grilled eels spicy. I will go here too.”

Actually, I’m not the type who likes spicy food that much. The spicy taste I like was not spicy enough to burn the tip of my tongue and hurt my stomach. But as she continued to refer to the shops with all her amused face, she couldn’t say no to her.

“And I also eat maratang.”

“Maratang is not Korean food. Reason.”

“Is it so? Then, eat spicy galbijjim.”

I nodded my head at everything Ichie said. Ichie then rummaged through his phone again and then opened a shop and held it out to me.

[Daewang Gamulchi Rice Soup]

“Go here too. Soo Hyun Sang. I like soup. So let’s go.”

I’m not wrong.
