215 – Money becomes a copy (2)

When the stranger’s name was mentioned, Jane Watson briefly awoke from the madness that money had brought her and turned her attention to Holmes and Mycroft Holmes. He was a Watson who subscribed to newspapers and various magazines and enjoyed memorizing information that he could easily share with anyone he spoke to.
So, for Jane Watson, it was not an unfamiliar name she had never heard before. Watson quickly remembered the source of the name and was able to recall that he was a prominent foreign researcher who had also recently given a lecture in London. Of course, that was the limit.
Like many people, I did not know exactly what Professor Van Helsing was doing and what kind of person he was. Reporters also did not write articles about his seemingly archaic research topic.
But Holmes was different. She raised her eyebrows as if, apart from the case she was currently focusing on, the researcher Mycroft Holmes was asking to meet was quite interesting. Through living with her, Watson was able to learn that her friend, Holmes, was in many ways similar to an eccentric researcher and had a temperament similar to that of a researcher.
No matter how much the experiment was for detective work, Watson often borrowed laboratories from various universities, including his alma mater, to conduct chemical experiments or participate in dissection practices, making him look like a researcher rather than a detective.
In fact, while living together, more than half of Holmes’ desk was decorated with suspicious medicines and human skulls from unknown sources.
