0 – Prologue
Coarse sand filled the wide ring. The roar of the crowd was so loud that it was deafening. Funnily enough, thanks to that, I was able to find silence.
My opponent was already in the ring. Leather armor that lightly covered the chest and bottom, and a shield and sword of appropriate size.
Things like a helmet were a luxury for a gladiator in this world, so her red hair and beautiful face were exposed.
Power entered the sword in her right hand.
“Dana, make sure you win! I bet a bag of gold coins on your victory!”
“Never give up! I’ll show you the walls of the League of Steel!”
All the spectators who filled the vast Colosseum were women. Men in this world used to wave their hands at this culture, calling it ‘violent and barbaric’.
Well, that’s not necessarily wrong. However, for my taste, this seemed more suitable.
“Gladiator Sir Evan. You can participate!”
The guide who was waiting by my side looked at me with a face full of anticipation. I smiled at her and walked out through her open door.
There was light. The stinging sunlight was oppressing me. The eyes of many spectators were on me.
“Waaa!!!”
“Evan! Evan! Evan!”
Receiving cheers was fun, but it wasn’t necessarily pleasant.
Objectively, I’m just a rookie gladiator with a lack of track record. Dana, the gladiator standing in front of me, was a seasoned and fierce real gladiator who had gone through countless real battles.
There is only one reason why they support me.
A man emerged from a space called a gladiatorial arena that all other men hated. Not even mocking them with contemptuous eyes from afar, but coming out as a player.
However, I wasn’t going to be satisfied with that.
Neither the training I went through for this day nor my will were light.
There was only me and the opposing gladiator in the ring. No matter how great their cheers are, at this moment they do not swing my sword instead.
No matter how hungry this world is for men, I am here right now.
With my own strength, with my own efforts, I must win. And, it will.
“Dana!!!”
Before I knew it, I was just a few steps away from her. I saw her expression.
“I’m going to f*ck you!!!”
A faint smile appeared on the lips of the red-handed gladiator. Even the look was attractive.
I will win.
